All these jawans were returning from operation at night, at the same time the Naxalites carried out the blast. There is no news of firing or encounter between the soldiers and the Naxalites.
All the injured soldiers are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Jawans came on special campaign against Naxalites
According to media reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Saturday night in the forest near Tadmetla village in Chintalnar police station area.
The CRPF’s 206 Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) personnel came here on a special operation with local police and were searching for the Naxalites after the Naxalites were reported to be hiding.
Meanwhile, the Naxalites detonated the IED for a landmine.
Wounded soldiers evacuated with the help of helicopter
A total of nine soldiers, including assistant commandant Nitin Purushottam Bhalerao, were injured in the blast and all the soldiers were evacuated from the scene with the help of a helicopter.
He was first admitted to a nearby local hospital and then sent to the capital Raipur for good treatment.
Meanwhile, at around 3:30 am, Bhalerao succumbed to injuries. He was a resident of Nashik, Maharashtra.
All injured out of danger
The injured soldiers also include second-in-command rank officer Dinesh Singh. According to officials, the condition of all the soldiers is at present and they are out of danger. There is no news of the police being young yet.

CRPF has also tweeted and paid tribute to his martyr officer Nitin Bhalerao and praised his bravery.
