  • Many communities have roots in the hobby of alcohol – Jani

  • Sociologist Gaurang Jani says that in many communities of the state, the hobby of alcohol has accumulated its roots.

Drinking is a custom in these communities, where men and women sit together and spill jams. The tribal population of the state is a prime example of this.

Alcoholism has been in the state for half a century. In such a situation, the practice of alcohol in these communities has been going on for a long time and it is a big challenge to stop it.

  • People do not speak openly due to fear – police officers

  • According to a senior IPS officer, the number of surveys is not entirely accurate. The number of alcohol drinkers in the state may be even more.

He said that alcohol consumption is a crime in the state due to alcoholism. In such a situation, people do not accept the consumption of alcohol in the survey due to fear of action. The actual number of alcohol addicts in the state can be revealed only by the permit holders and police action.
