  • The ingredients required to make flour chakli are as follows:

    1) 250 grams i.e. two cups of wheat flour.

    2) Two teaspoons white sesame seeds.

    3) One fourth teaspoon turmeric powder.

    4) One-third teaspoon red chili powder.

    5) One teaspoon ginger paste.

    6) One-third teaspoon coriander powder.

    7) 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida.

    8) One and a half teaspoon oil.

    9) Salt (as per taste).

    10) Oil (for frying).

    11) Water (as required).

  • Method of making flour chakli (step-1)

  • Put wheat flour in a clean cloth and make its bowl. Then heat a steamer and steam it for 15 minutes keeping the pot in it.

    Now remove the pot from the steamer and let it cool. When the dough becomes hard, break it into pieces and grind it in a mixer.

    Then add all the spices, ginger paste and one and a half teaspoon of oil with ground flour and knead the soft dough using enough water.

  • Now take the dough as per need and put it in the chakli press and close the lid.

    Then, on a plate, make about 25 circles by rolling the chakli press round like a jalebi.

    After that, heat the oil in a non-stick pan, add chakli in it one by one and fry them on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in color.

    Then take them out on an oil absorbent paper.
