Smartphone brand Xiaomi has announced that some older Redmi mobiles will not be upgraded to the latest MIUI 12. That is, there are some Redmi smartphones that will not get a new MIUI update from the company.
Four of the mobiles that the company had promised to update earlier have now been removed from the list.
Xiaomi has given this information in the Mi Community forums.
Updates to be received in second phase
A few months ago, Xiaomi shared a list of phones that were to receive MIUI 12 update in the second phase.
The list also included Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6.
All the four mobiles were to get updates with Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Poco F1.
The company has now removed the name of these four devices from the list.
Why won’t you get the latest MIUI 12?
The company has given the reason for removing all four mobiles from the list and not giving updates.
Xiaomi says that this has been done due to ‘compatibility and performance issues’ with the new update.
Xiaomi has not given much information about this in the official statement.
FoneArena A report of the company said that the company is also alerting users about the update.
