Private companies utilizing Aadhaar services for customer verification has to pay Rs 20 for every verification and 50 paise for authentication of the unique ID, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) stated in a gazette notification on Thursday.
Nevertheless, authorities entities and the Department of Post are exempted from these authentication costs.
“Aadhaar authentication services shall be charged on the charge of Rs 20 (including taxes) for every eKYC transaction and Rs 0.50 (including taxes) for every Yes and No authentication transaction from requesting entities,” the UIDAI stated in its gazette notification named ‘Pricing of Aadhaar Authentication Services’.
In keeping with the notification, private companies need to pay this price inside 15 days of elevating an invoice by the authority. Delays in fee will attract interest and will result in discontinuation of authentication and eKYC providers
