They are well liked due to the great features and affordable prices.
However, they have received very poor ratings in crash tests from Global NCAP.

Global NCAP is an institute that gives rating to cars on the basis of safety. Accidents of cars are seen in different ways to see how safe the passengers are during the accident. A rating is given based on that.
Maruti Suzuki Alto
Maruti Alto, launched in the year 2000, is still preferred by the rest of India.
That is why it has made many records in terms of sales, but it has not proved to be a good car in terms of safety.
In the crash test, it got zero marks without airbags.
It has a 796cc engine, which gives power of 48bhp and torque of 69nm.
Its starting price is three lakh rupees.
Hyundai’s Centro is also among the best-selling cars in India. It is also one of the worst cars in terms of safety.
It has also received a general rating in the Global NCAP. It has got two stars for adult and child protection in the crash test.
Explain that the company has a 1,086cc engine in it, which gives 99nm torque with power of 69bhp.
Its starting price is Rs 4.63 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
The next name in this list is Maruti Suzuki’s WagonR. This car, sold in India too, has got two stars for adult and child protection like Centro.
Its starting price in India is Rs 4.51 lakh.
It is available in two petrol engine options. One liter engine gives 67bhp power and 90nm torque and 1.2 liter engine gives 82bhp power and 113nm torque.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
Like Maruti Suzuki Alto and WagonR, the Swift has not proved to be a good car in terms of safety.
It has been awarded only two stars out of five by the Global NCAP.
This car has a 1.2-liter petrol engine, which gives it 83bhp power and 113nm torque to start. Its engine comes with a five-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
Its price starts at Rs 5.19 lakh.
Reno’s quid is also included in this list. It also got a normal rating in the crash test.
Global NCAP has awarded zero for adult protection and two stars for child protection.
Its 0.8-liter engine is capable of delivering 54bhp and torque of 72nm and the 1.0-liter engine is capable of delivering 91nm of torque with 68bhp of power.
Its price is between 2.99-5.12 lakh rupees.
