The central government has sent its proposal to the farmers who stood in protest against the agricultural laws.
In this draft of 20 pages, the government has assured to give written guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP).
Leaders of farmer organizations will consider this proposal and decide their strategy.
According to media reports, farmer leaders are scheduled to hold a press conference this evening, in which they can announce their future strategy.
What things have been said in the government’s proposal?
In the proposal, the government has said that the MSP system will not end. It will continue and the government is ready to give written assurance on it.
There will be major changes in the APMC Act. Along with addressing the doubts of farmers, the government will make registration mandatory for private companies and they will be taxed.
The government has said that in contract farming, farmers should be given the right to go to court and to create separate fast track courts.
Point of consideration in relation to attachment
As reports, in this proposal regarding attachment of agricultural land have been written, but no assurance has been given.
The buyer will not be able to take any loan on any structure built on the land of the farmer nor will he be able to hold this structure hostage.
Regarding the possibility of occupation of big traders on farmers’ land, it has been said that a provision has been made in the law regarding this.

Will farmers agree to the proposal?
On Tuesday, Home Minister Amit Shah had a meeting with farmers to find a middle ground on agricultural laws.
In it, he said that the government cannot withdraw these laws, but it is ready to amend them. It was in this meeting that there was talk on sending the proposal
On the other hand, the farmers say that they do not accept the amendments and their performance will continue till the government withdraws the laws.
Farmers adamant on repealing the law
Farmers’ organizations are adamant on repealing the laws. They say that if the government can get stubborn, then the farmers can also come down.
Kanwalpreet Singh Pannu of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti had already said before the government’s proposal that the three laws should be withdrawn.
He had said, “We have this one demand. If the government talks about amendment, we will reject it.”
