Head coach
Trevor Bellis to continue his term
It is believed that Trevor Bellis will continue his tenure as head coach of SRH. Moody on the other hand will play his role in team management as a director.
Interestingly, this model was also adopted by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2020.
The head coach of RCB is Simon Katich and Mike Hewson plays the director.
Moody has been successful as the coach of SRH
Moody has been quite successful as the head coach of SRH. During his tenure, SRH won the IPL 2016 title while the team was runner-up in 2018. The Orange Army has earned its place in the play-offs every time in the last five seasons.
Moody has long experience in coaching
Moody has nearly two decades of coaching experience in professional cricket.
He has worked as a director for Worcestershire in the early 2000s. Moody has also played a similar role for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League.
In 2005, he was appointed as the coach of the Sri Lanka team. The Sri Lankan team was runners-up in the 2007 World Cup during his tenure.
SRH’s performance was like this in IPL 2020
SRH’s team managed to make it to the play-offs despite a poor start to the initial matches of the IPL. After finishing the league stage, the team finished third with 14 points.
Like all times, this time also David Warner (548) played an important role in the batting and was the third highest run-scorer in the season.
SRH’s journey ended after losing to Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier match.
