Woman stole neonatal from hospital as nurse, police searching CCTV footage

A case of stealing a newborn has been reported in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. Police has registered an FIR in this case. According to the police, the accused came to the hospital as female nurses. The incident of child theft has been captured in CCTV. Police is looking for the accused woman.

According to the information received from the police, the woman, who came as a nurse, has taken the newborn child of 12 hours from Yashwantrao Hospital (MYH). Some scenes of the incident have been captured in the hospital’s CCTV camera.

Rajiv Tripathi, in-charge of Sanyogitaganj police station, said on Monday that a woman named Rani Bhiyane gave birth to the child at five in the morning at MYH. He said that the unidentified woman, disguised as a nurse, took the child with her around six o’clock on Sunday evening, cheating her and her family members that the newborn’s heartbeat had slowed down and she was taking him for examination.

Tripathi said that in the blurred CCTV footage of the incident, a fake nurse is seen carrying a newborn baby along with another woman. The fake nurse seems to be well acquainted with MYH.

They said that the two suspected women, including fake nurses, were being searched based on CCTV footage. A case of Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the unknown accused on the report of the kin of the stolen child.
